Louise Beams is a self taught artist based in Devon, originally from London. Creativity has always been a central part of her life, and her artistic journey has evolved through continuous exploration and experimentation. Working across line and wash watercolour, acrylic, and printmaking, Louise draws inspiration from the landscapes, architecture, and landmarks of Dartmoor and the wider West Country.
In her recent acrylic series, Louise has abandoned traditional brushes in favour of repurposed plastic store cards, embracing the spontaneity and expressive textures they create. This technique allows her to capture the atmosphere and essence of the scene rather than its exact form, reflecting her instinctive and imaginative approach to making art.
